SAFETY BAY
In 1837 it was noted as “a safe, well protected boat anchorage” hence it was named as Safety Bay. In the late 1920’s the Safety Bay Townsite was subdivided and it grew over the 1930’s. Safety Bay Road which links to Rockingham was extended to Mandurah Road during WW II. Due to it’s mild, child safe, sheltered beach it has become a popular venue for family outings & Kitesurfing. Additionally, it provides the opportunity to see wild life including dolphins, whales, sea lions and penguins. Fresh afternoon breezes in the summer months create excellent sailing and windsurfing conditions in Safety Bay. Safety Bay Provides an excellent road network which Perth can be reached in about 45 minutes by Car using the Kwinana Freeway.
