The City of Rockingham is carrying out a major review of its Strategic Community Plan (SCP), and community members are encouraged to get involved in shaping the future of our City by participating in a new survey.

The purpose of the new survey is to help build on the feedback that has already been received, define the community’s aspirations and to establish the vision of the new SCP.

The surveyopens in a new window is open to all community members and is being advertised on the City’s website, its online community portal Rock Port and on social media. It will close at midnight on Wednesday 1 March 2023.

City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin urged community members to share their thoughts and complete the survey.

“The new SCP will strive to reflect the broad range of views from people across our community,” Mayor Hamblin said.

“People from all walks of life are encouraged to participate in the new survey so we are in the best position possible to accurately define what the community’s vision is for the City over the next 10 years. “

Stay up to date on the development of the SCP by subscribing through Rock Portopens in a new window and selecting ‘Strategic Community Plan Major Review’.

Key Background Information

The SCP is a 10-year plan that guides the City’s development. Through extensive consultation it defines the community’s vision for the future. Information gathered through the SCP steers the development of all City plans, strategies and resources.

A major review of the SCP is delivered every four years. Since November 2022 the City has carried out community focus group workshops, pop-up consultations in local shopping centres, libraries, City facilities and at events. The City has also consulted with local schools, businesses and the City’s advisory committees.

Earlier this month 15,000 randomly selected households were invited to help establish the priorities for the new SCP. The new survey now opens this opportunity up to all members of the community.
